2022 Ford F-150 Review

The Ford F-150 is back for another year with great power, more tech, and impressive towing capacity. Blackwell Ford is happy to introduce Plymouth, Livonia, and Belleville, Michigan, drivers to the 2022 Ford F-150, and that’s why we’ve put together this review. You can even take a peek at the F-150 at our Ford dealership.

Below, we’ll tackle the 2022 Ford F-150’s performance, capabilities, and technology features so you can decide if this iconic Ford truck is right for you. Let’s start!

Strength and Performance

The Ford F-150 is a powerful truck with six engine options to choose from, so you get what you need from your truck.

The standard engine under the hood of the F-150 is the 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. You only get more power from here with each engine option.

For those interested in saving some fuel while driving, check out one of the EcoBoost® engines. There are three to choose from, including the impressive High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 with a whopping 450 horsepower.

However, you can really go green with the available 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 engine that generates the most torque available of the six engines—570 lb-ft of torque and 430 horsepower.

Each engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and you can select 4x2 or 4x4 capability.

Towing and Payload Capacity

With the F-150, you can tow quite a bit. When properly equipped, the F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds! That’s enough for a large camping trailer, large boat, or even a horse trailer.

If you’re interested in using the F-150 for hauling things in your cargo bed, you’ll have over a ton of payload capacity to work with. In fact, the F150’s maximum payload capacity is 3,325 pounds when properly configured. Load up bricks, camping gear, or even adventuring equipment, like an ATV or dirt bikes, and hit the road.

Chock Full of Tech

Technology inside and outside the Ford F-150 helps you get the job done. There’s plenty of it, from the standard infotainment system, which can provide you with directions, to the available onboard scales, which help you monitor your payload as you load.

If you plan on working at night, the optional LED Box Lighting with Zone Lighting can help you see. This system will illuminate all around your truck and in the truck bed so you can keep working or pack up after the sun has gone down.

Need to connect to the internet while on the go? The standard FordPassâ„¢ Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot can help you do that. You can even connect up to 10 devices at once and access the hotspot from 50 feet away!
